As I honor and celebrate women this month, I’m paying extra attention to my mindset when I practice self care. One of the self care tips I’d like to share with you is to be mindful of your thoughts as you take the time to pamper yourself. We all struggle with negative self talk, but it’s time to begin changing that.
As you begin and complete your beauty self care routine, talk kindly to yourself during the entire process; thank your body for doing all that it does for you, notice all the things you love about it, embrace the uniqueness of your face (it’s so awesome that we all look different, diversity is so cool), accept the aging process and focus on health (which has a lot to do with diet, exercise, and eating your greens ), set goals for things you’d like to change for the coming days/week and work on them daily and remind yourself that you are strong and capable to accomplish your dreams.
Changing your thought process will result in less and less negative self talk. It won’t happen overnight, that’s why my tip this month is to practice it while you take time for yourself. Remember that we all have bad days and struggles (unfortunately, those won’t go away), but let them make you stronger and teach you incredible lessons.
I challenge you to practice positive, loving self talk when you dedicate time to your self care routines. It has truly made a difference in my life and I hope it does the same for you.
