This month I wanted to highlight sustainability, one of my core business values. What it means to me as a business owner and as a human to put our earth first with my flower work.
I loved sharing how I apply sustainability practices in my floral production, with my installations and with my event breakdowns. My wish is for each of you to take the time to vote for our planet first.
This brings me to my self care tip for the month of April to get outside and commune with nature. This practice has always helped me to reconnect to our earth and to recenter myself. Being outdoors is an activity I can remember back to when I was little playing in our back/front yard with my siblings. There is something about the fresh air, sunshine and all the natures surroundings that improve our moods, creativity and wellbeing. That’s why it’s one of my go to tips for self care this month. Take a look at my list below detailing tips on one of my favorite activities for getting out in nature.
My tips on picnics
Plan a picnic with yourself, your significant other or some of your besties
Parks, beaches and your own backyard are great for picnics
Pack a cute bag with food, drinks, water and a blanket
Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring a hat
Bring a book, magazine or simply enjoy the views around you
Bring some games to play with your friends or yourself
I encourage you to do this often. If you rather do something else rather than a picnic, other great activities include taking walks (our own neighborhoods are perfect), take up an active hobby you’ve always wanted to try or restart one you’ve enjoyed before and haven’t gotten around to in some time. Whatever it is that you like to do outside, go and do it and do it often. It will boost your mood, help you think, clear your head and the sleep benefits are priceless.
I hope these self care tips encourage you to spend time appreciating Mother Earth and all the amazing things it does for us on a daily basis. If you have tips you’d like to share on how you spend time outdoors, do leave them in the comments below. Also, see you all here next month for my self care tips for May!
